The Antares single-cell fixture

Andrea Riva

Chief Executive Officer

It is with great pride that we bring to the market the finest cell available, available in a range of materials to suit various electrolysis technologies, including AEM, PEM, and AWE. Our cells are engineered for water electrolysis as well as other advanced processes, such as CO2 electrolysis.

Product purpose

R&D activities in the field of electrocatalysis increasingly require access to suitable single-cell equipment systems (fixtures) to:

  1. test new components such as electrodes, membranes, porous transport layers (PTL, also known as gas diffusion layers, GDL), and bipolar plates;
  2. optimise performance through the systematic selection of operating conditions (pressure, temperature, feeding/collection modes for reactants/products, etc.) while enabling detailed analyses such as reactant and/or product crossover, reaction kinetics, and other critical parameters;
  3. simulate the real operating conditions of electrolysers in the laboratory.

The problem we aim to solve

From the analysis of commercially available single-cell fixtures, the Antares team has identified clear technical limitations, such as the incompatibility with high-pressure operation, incompatibility of construction materials (especially fittings) with operating conditions (alkalinity, temperature), low versatility to different electrode thicknesses.

Michele Ferri

Chief Scientific Officer

Researchers are often forced to dedicate a significant portion of their time to developing and building their own laboratory test rigs, sometimes seeking external support to compensate for gaps in system engineering, thereby diverting their focus from their core activities.

Our solution

These considerations led the Antares team to develop a single-cell fixture designed to overcome the limitations observed in products currently available on the market. This enables the provision of a globally superior product to research teams, suitable for a wide range of electrolytic processes.Antares cell is equipped with advanced features such as an engineered serpentine flow field to optimize fluid distribution, exceptional craftsmanship ensuring superior build quality, and a meticulous selection of metals and elastomers of specifically developed grades to enhance performance and longevity.
