The Antares stack

In the hydrogen markets (with high TRL), e-fuels, and e-chemicals (still in the early stages of development), Antares stands out as a unique company specialising exclusively in the design and manufacturing of electrolyser stacks based on AEM technology (AEM-EL). Specifically, Antares’ core business focuses on stacks ranging from 10 to 100 kW, whose commercial interest has been validated by a detailed market analysis.
Antares stacks are designed to ensure optimal transport of reactants and products (i.e., fluids, whether liquid or gaseous), carefully controlling and homogenising fluid velocities while minimising pressure drops along the preferred flow direction. The integration of these principles into an innovative stack design, combined with the development of high-performance cell components, enables the creation of cells with essential features: high performance (volumetric power densities > 5 kWh/L, with single-cell thicknesses <3 mm, significantly lower than current PEM-WEL systems, which already offer high compactness) and high energy efficiency (>80%, <50 kWh/kgH2). These characteristics allow for a reduction in stack costs by decreasing both cell costs and the number of cells required.
Our patented technology is able to achieve extraordinary efficiencies at lab scale. We are restlessly working to scale such performances to stack level to start the commercialization phase. Besides, our compact stack design will allow the achievement of high power volumetric densities (>5 kW/L), while drastically reducing costs (<0.3 €/W).
